Jewish Link Co-Publisher Moshe Kinderlehrer Inspires SINAI Students at RYNJ

On Friday March 24, Moshe Kinderlehrer, co-publisher of The Jewish Link, visited Class 4S of SINAI at RYNJ, in River Edge. The class has been working on publishing a SINAI newsletter (called the SINAI Review) and thought it would be interesting to speak to a real publisher to learn what it is like to run a newspaper. Mr. Kinderlehrer arrived with newspapers in hand, ready for his presentation. After a short introduction about his job, the class participated in a Question and Answer session where they were able to ask Mr. Kinderlehrer a variety of questions about The Jewish Link and the publishing process. The class learned that 13,000 copies of The Jewish Link are printed each week. They were surprised to learn that the newspaper runs on advertisements. Currently the paper is about 116 pages long, and consists of 50% news and 50% ads. Mr. Kinderlehrer also shared that he recently published a new newspaper: Monsey.com. The class was able to take a look at the inaugural issue which was delivered on Friday for the first time. 4S greatly enjoyed this experience as well as gained much knowledge about newspapers. The class looks forward to applying what they learned in their very own SINAI Review.
