Ode to Spring
Like the sun coming out from his winter nap,
like our sweaters and sweatshirts put away,
like the flowers blossoming,
like our lawns having their first cut,
like dinner outside after a busy day,
like the variety of fruits at the market,
like the fresh scent of new plants,
like the sun coming down late,
like making plans for the summer,
like sticky lips from lemonade,
like spring.
Nikki Attar, age 11, TeaneckThank you to everyone who entered!
Spring
Spring is coming spring is coming
flowers bloom
Trees grow new leaves
plants grow leaves
birds flying spring is here!
Avigayil Kupferman, age 7, TeaneckSpringtime Sings
The birds and the bees and the Evergreen trees.
The pig comes out with it’s cute little snout.
Babies of all types are being born, Spring is not a time to mourn.
Animals and people cheer, Spring is not a time to fear.
Flowers blossom, maybe you will see a possum.
Play outside during Spring, see what surprises Spring will bring.
Winter, Spring, summer and fall, you know which season is the best of them all!
By April Merri Weather (Shayna Benson),age 9, Teaneck
The Beautiful Spring
The birds spread their extraordinary wings
They build their cozy nests with twigs
Looking to the heavens they cheerfully sing
When they alight for worms they dig
From hibernation the bears come out
For a loving mate they yearn
Spring is here they have no doubt
With happiness they learn
New leaves peek out on the trees
Flower petals show their colors
For nectar search the little bees
Spring is here and summer follows
Yoni Rabinowitz, age 9, Fair LawnSpring
In spring, flowers bloom, trees wake up from their winter naps
people plant gardens and wear their caps. In spring
grass grows, animals come out of hibernation
and the wind blows. Spring is here!
Azriel Kupferman, age 8, TeaneckHere are a few reasons,
Why Spring is the best of the seasons!
Spring is getting so hot,
I’m starting to get ice cream a lot!
Now I can hang out outside more,
Spring is never a bore!
And those are a few reasons,
Why Spring is the best of the seasons!
Ariella Kra, age 9, TeaneckOn the plane to Israel
Eat the food
It’s so pretty
Buildings scrape the sky
You can see when you fly so high in the sky
You can get a view of the land
Now it’s time to eat lunch
And when you’re finished play the video games
Now it’s time to land in Yerushalayim
Have lots of fun!
Zev Cohn, age 6, TeaneckRoses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
And so are you.
I like Spring
Flowers and trees,
Pollen and bees.
I like Spring
Summer breeze.
Avigayil Isseroff, age 7, BergenfieldSpring

Chaim Horowitz, age 8, PassaicSpring
Spring oh spring, the sky is as beautiful as a diamond ring.
Flowers are blooming,
the weather is soothing,
the bees are buzzing,
the trees are huffing in a breeze,
the birds are singing,
and the children are sinking into spring oh spring!
Sarina Litwack, age 9, TeaneckI Love Spring
I love the windy breeze in spring!
It is sometimes warm and sometimes cold.
BUT IT DOES NOT MATTER…
I still love spring.
Ley Ley Cofnas, age 8, BergenfieldFrom America on a plane to Israel and Yerushalayim
Israel is the safest place and the prettiest too
Pizza stores towers and buildings that soar in the sky
The Beis Hamikdash will be there too
It’s so lovely
It’s more than you need
Ariel Cohn, age 6, TeaneckDo you like Spring?
Well I do.
There are so many things to do.
Playing games is really fun,
Like eating hot dogs in a bun.
Do you love Israel?
Well I do.
There are so many things to do.
Going to the kotel is one,
To get there I would surely run.
Oh how special Israel is you know,
I really wish I got to go.
Tamar F., age 8, TeaneckSpring has arrived and summer will follow
Sleeping life will slumber no more
The budding flowers pollen will swallow
Blue Robin’s eggs open, the life in them soars
Fields ripe with color
Parks filled with youths
Beachgoers traveling
To Oceans afar
Trips to the woods sound so inviting
Birdwatching and camping offer new heights
Of rare birds and bears, oh so exciting
So many new ethereal sights
Spring is a perfectly magical season
Full of beauty and wonder all round
Fruit trees and blossoms, and new life all over
Joy and festivities always abound
Jacob Rabinowitz, age 13, Fair LawnThe State of Israel is 73 years old
Its leaders were brave and bold
One of the four holy cities is Tzefat
But be careful, in the summer it gets really hot!
In Yerushalyim you should go to the shuk
There are so many things there- just take a look!
Even though Israel is so small
It is still standing very tall
Yonatan Sklarin, age 10, TeaneckA Beautiful Day
On a beautiful sunny day
The birds chirping in the trees
Nature makes its sound
From a beautiful thing.
Each creature plays their part
To make a beautiful sound
From their hearts to a
Harmonizing sound.
From the wind blowing in your face
To the song from the sound of nature
And it gets into your heart.
Eliana Kinsberg, age 6, EnglewoodYou can fling in spring
you can swing on the trees
feel the nice blossom
it’s really awesome
now I would like to eat the growing cherries
and yummy berries
there are some reasons
on spring season
this poem will have to be precise
so I would get a little advice
but in the middle of spring
I say riddles
spring is a great time of year
after spring big tears come out of my eyes
then I realize it’s coming back next year
Gavi Schnall, age 9, Fair LawnSpring
Spring is beautiful
Flowers bloom all over
Flowers are wonder
Trees start to bud
Days lengthen
It is time to harvest
Have fun
Zvi Block, age 9, StamfordWatch the blossoms as the blossoms bloom
Out with the winter, cold and gloom
In with the warm
In with the breeze
In with the fun
In with the honey and bees
Fly a bright kite
In the daylight
While you sing in the spring
Watch all the birds come back
Then eat a tasty snack
While you sing in the spring
Root for the baseball team that’s your favorite
Stand up and scream, don’t just sit
And go get a hot dog
And go for a nice jog
While you sing in the spring
Tani Schnall, age 10, Fair Lawn
