Teaneck—Tonight Show Host Jimmy Fallon recently had a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor named after him. Not to be outdone, the JLNJ has commissioned several new flavors intended to reflect the unique lives and schedules of the observant Jewish clientele in New Jersey. Look for the new flavors to hit stores everywhere just for Purim day.
Construction Crunch—As more families look to expand their current living space, construction vehicles blocking the road have become the norm in Teaneck, Bergenfield, and New Milford. To mark this boom in renovation, Construction Crunch combines mint ice cream with broken Lego block candies and a sprinkle of dirt-cookie crunch crumbles.
Mini-Van(illa) —Whether it’s a Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, or Chrysler Town & Country, carpool lines at any local Yeshiva burst with a seemingly endless line of minivans. Though one can always find the occasional SUV or crossover vehicle, the majority of cars is overwhelmingly minivan. To celebrate its popularity, and blandness in variety, the company chose to rename the classic vanilla flavor after this favorite of the carpooling crew.
Prescription Strength—With the large percentage of men and women in medical professions in the North Jersey area, it seemed a natural fit to unveil the first ever Super-Duper Intense Premium ice cream, so strong you need a prescription to get it—for those times when even Super-Premium ice cream just isn’t good enough.
Overachiever Overload—After a long day at school, many of the local children participate in extracurricular activities. Chesed, gym, sports, art, and music lessons are just some of the options offered to these school goers. Why choose just one? This flavor has cookies, toffee, caramel ribbon, cheesecake, and chocolate covered pretzels all mixed in. So after a long day at school, art, and basketball, the overachiever can relax with a flavor that does the overachieving for them.
Dual Curriculum Dynamo—A blend of peanut butter and chocolate ice creams—these two flavors blend as perfectly and seamlessly as the message area schools impart to their students, teaching secular studies in a Torah philosophy, and that of “Talmud Torah Im Derech Eretz.”
Heimishe Home—What to do when it’s Tuesday night and someone wants a bit of nice cold cholent? Luckily the creative geniuses have come to the rescue again, with cholent-flavored ice cream. For the real heimishe palate, they have included a packet of kishke-flavored sprinkles, too.
Heichal Teaneck—The merger of Yeshivas Heichal HaTorah with the Jewish Center of Teaneck inspired us to create a slightly nutty-flavored Nutella flavor combined with rum raisin, a perfect marriage of modern and old-fashioned ice cream flavors. Cholov Yisroel.
