Jewish National Fund Annual Community Breakfast Featuring WSJ’s Bret Stephens

Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) annual Community Breakfast will take place on May 4 at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun (1025 South Orange Ave., Short Hills, NJ). This complimentary event begins at 7:30 a.m. and will feature guest speaker Bret Stephens. Stephens currently writes “Global View,” the foreign affairs column of the Wall Street Journal, for which he was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. He is the Journal’s deputy editorial page editor.

Stephens will speak about what the next President of the United States needs to know about the Middle East. He has stated that “no matter who is elected in November, the next president will have to grapple with the Mideast crises from the first day in office until the last.” Stephens also says that his speech is “intended to lay the foundation for the principles that can guide future US policy.”

Attendees of the breakfast can also expect to learn more about the vision of JNF and how it provides a unique voice in building a prosperous and secure future for the land and people of Israel. JNF strives to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s citizens and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is “greening” the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks across Israel, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid agriculture techniques, ensuring that no citizen is left behind by making parks and public spaces inclusive for people with disabilities and special needs and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

Andrew Solomon, Central New Jersey board president and a member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, is proud to be a part of such a worthwhile organization and gladly dedicates his time to support the tremendous efforts of JNF. “I’m especially excited about this year’s speaker as I have looked forward to reading his Tuesday morning editorials for years. I look forward to another successful event and to educating our community about how JNF is bettering the lives of the people and the land of Israel.”

Registration for the community breakfast is required by April 28 via jnf.org/njbreakfast. For more information, please contact Central New Jersey Campaign Executive Anna Richlin at [email protected] or 973-593-0095 x826.
