JFCS Corner Market Food Pantry Is a Finalist For the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® Grant Program

(Courtesy of JFCS) Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey (JFCS) is a finalist for the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® grant program! This annual, nationwide grant program provides funding for community organizations working to provide support for their neighborhoods. This is State Farm’s 100th anniversary, and in celebration, the company is giving more money to local nonprofits than ever before.

Out of 4,000 applicants, JFCS is one of the top 200 finalists.

With your help, JFCS can receive a $25,000 grant to support The Corner Market Food Pantry, its food assistance program. Before the pandemic, the agency’s pantry served 175-200 households per year, but COVID-19 increased its number of clients dramatically. To address the factors contributing to food insecurity, JFCS offers case management support to pantry clients, helping them connect to and apply for SNAP/WIC, rental/utility assistance, and other benefit programs.

This $25,000 award would help the agency continue to feed hundreds of families each month, connect them to other critical services, and improve the food security and health of thousands of people in the community.

The top 50% of finalists will get the award based on public votes. Voting starts at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and ends 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

You can cast 10 votes per day, per valid email address. If you vote for JFCS every day, that’s 100 votes toward providing food and household essentials to vulnerable families in our community.
