(Courtesy of JFCS) On June 9, Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey (JFCS) held their 14th Annual Ride to Fight Hunger. Despite a little rain, more than 225 people gathered for a morning of biking, hiking, food, magic, carnival games, face painting and glitter tattoos. Adults and children of all ages had a blast!
JFCS provides comprehensive social and mental health services to the entire Northern New Jersey community, and the money raised from this event goes a long way in ensuring that they can continue providing support to all who call upon them for help.
JFCS sees over 90 new clients every month, many of whom have nowhere else to turn and depend on JFCS’s services (most of which have very little or no cost). Funds from the ride help JFCS deliver thousands of meals each year to homebound seniors, provide counseling for hundreds of people who are suffering, prevent homelessness, help the unemployed find new jobs, and so much more. And while the ride is about having fun—even more than that—it is a way to raise money and awareness about JFCS’s services for our community.
This year JFCS set its goal to raise $236k and is 86% of the way to reaching it! With your help, they are confident they can hit their target. To donate to the Ride to Fight Hunger and JFCS, please visit RideToFightHunger.com.
