On December 5, JFCS volunteers Dani Volerich and Gloria Schackner had the privilege of delivering the 42,000th and 42,001st Kosher Meals-on-Wheels of 2018. Dani has been volunteering with JFCS for over 6 years and loves being able to help seniors. She finds it to be incredibly rewarding. Dani’s client Joy is grateful for these meals as heavy cooking is no longer possible for her. Joy especially loves the roast beef dinner. Gloria has been volunteering with JFCS for over 10 years. She says that she is lucky to have had a great life and thus feels grateful to be able to give back. At 91 years old, Gloria’s client Arline looks forward to her meal deliveries for physical and spiritual sustenance. Not only is the nutrition important, but the visit with Gloria each week keeps her engaged and excited for Wednesdays.
