JFNNJ iCAN Teens Visit UN

(Courtesy of iCAN) Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s iCAN teen leadership program led a group of 18 high school students to the United Nations.

During the session, the students had the opportunity to see for themselves the international stage on which Israeli diplomacy is often played. The tour guide even commented on how well prepared and educated the group of students were for their tour. After the guided tour they met with Yaron Wax, a member of the Israeli delegation.

The teens then enjoyed lunch and a debriefing at StandWithUs—an Israel advocacy organization. At StandWithUs, they discussed the significance the UN has had during for the 71 years of Israel’s existence as an independent state. For most of the students this was a first-time experience and one they will surely remember.
