JFNNJ Names Lipsett-Singer As Chief Development Officer

Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey announces that, effective December 1, Julie Lipsett-Singer will become its Chief Development Officer. Lipsett-Singer serves currently as Vice President, Israel and Global Philanthropy, at The Jewish Agency for Israel. The Agency is one of the Federation’s largest global partners. At The Agency, Lipsett-Singer has been a leader in major gift fundraising and supervised the New York metro area Financial Resource Development team. “Julie’s comprehensive knowledge of the needs of the Jewish community, from local to international, makes her the perfect person to lead Federation’s fundraising efforts,” said Jason M. Shames, Federation’s CEO and Executive Vice President.

In her role at The Agency, Lipsett-Singer has also worked as the liaison to their North American Board of Trustees, as well as collaborating with the Jewish Federations of Northern New Jersey and Palm Beach County. Jayne Petak, President of Jewish Federation, said, “The multiple roles she filled at The Agency means Julie will hit the ground running in terms of raising funds and awareness for the programs we support in Israel and around the world, from our sister city relationships with Nahariya and L’vov, to programs like Nirim and Amcha.”

Prior to her service at The Agency, Lipsett-Singer served as the Director of Development for American Friends of NATAL, Israel’s Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War.

Julie is a former president of Jewish Federation of Central New Jersey and served in several leadership positions there, including chair of Women’s Philanthropy and the annual campaign. “I’m very excited to begin working with Julie,” said Roberta Abrams Paer, Vice President of Campaign for Federation. Julie’s experience as both a lay leader and a Jewish communal professional help her understand the importance of a dynamic fundraising effort and how it impacts the Federation’s ability to meet the vast and varied needs of our local and global Jewish community.”

Lipsett-Singer holds an MS Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a BA in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a resident of Livingston.

Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey is a convener, a connector, and a rallying point of action for the Jewish community of northern New Jersey. Federation provides a safety net for the needy, strengthens Jewish continuity and deepens connections with Israel.
