JFS of Central New Jersey Plans July Programs

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ), a non-sectarian health and social service agency, will host a variety of programs in July, all free of charge and open to the community. All programs also include a light lunch; kosher dietary laws observed.

“Too Much Stuff: Dealing With Clutter” will be the featured program for seniors on Tuesday, July 10, 11:30 a.m., at the Senior Resource Center at the Lavy House, 748 E. Broad Street, in Westfield, presented by Laverne S. Williams, CSW, director of the PEWS (Promoting Wellness and Spirituality) Program, Mental Health Association of New Jersey. Clutter can clog the smooth workings of any home, imposing heavy cost on the people living there. Things get easily lost in the piles, and safety becomes an issue. Join us as we discuss how to clear your clutter.

Registration is recommended if you plan to attend. Contact Alice Greenberg-Sheedy at 908-352-8375 or [email protected].

The Memory Café at the Lavy House is a program that provides a casual time to enjoy lunch, social activities and entertainment for individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer’s/dementia and their caregivers and loved ones. There will be two opportunities to attend The Memory Cafe, once on Thursday, July 12, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and again on Tuesday, July 24, from 12 to 2 p.m

Registration is required. Call Naomi Kreutzer, 908-352-8375. Space is limited.

Funding for this program has been provided by the Elizabethtown Healthcare Foundation and the Leonard B. Kahn Foundation.
