JFSCNJ Accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Home Care

Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey (JFSCNJ), a non-sectarian health and social service agency, servicing all of Union County, received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Home Care. According to Maria Mullen, JFSCNJ director of nursing, “The purpose of accreditation is to ensure that agencies delivering home care services meet established industry best practices.” To obtain accreditation, according to Mullen, “the agency must develop policies, procedures and standards and then demonstrate compliance through rigorous on-site evaluation.”

Supervised by a staff of six registered nurses, the homecare department of JFSCNJ has been in operation for over three decades servicing the Union County community with close to 50,000 hours of home health aide services delivered a year by a team of 50 Certified Home Health Aides. Funding for the Homecare Program comes from the Union County Division on Aging, United Fund of Westfield, the 21st Century ILGWU Heritage Fund, Wells Fargo Private Foundations, and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. A private pay service called Caregivers at Home is also available to the public. For further information, contact JFSCNJ at 908-352-8375 or [email protected].
