(Courtesy of JFSCNJ) A group of Holocaust survivors, their caregivers, volunteers from Springfield’s Congregation Israel, and JFSCNJ volunteers and staff enjoyed a program of brunch and entertainment in the Mitzi & Warren Eisenberg Multi-Purpose Center at the JFSCNJ Halpern Building in Elizabeth last Sunday.
The program, which featured musical entertainment by Joe Pace, was organized by JFSCNJ Board Member Seth Huttel, Debbie Rosenwein (JFSCNJ director of Holocaust Services) and Danielle McLeer (JFSCNJ director of Outreach and Volunteers). Volunteers Greta Polinitza and Ilana Janette (JFSCNJ student intern) also joined the event that was part of the B’Yachad- Together Program, through a grant from the Grotta Fund for Older Adults.
Gratitude goes to the Wilf Family Foundations for providing the funding for this event.
The spirited participation from the Babich, Huttel, Janette, Sheps and Zeffern families contributed to the joyous singing and dancing along with bringing smiles and good cheer to the Holocaust survivors. The family volunteers also made Rosh Hashanah greeting cards and drew pictures for the Holocaust survivors.
