Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ), a nonsectarian health and social service agency, will host two free programs in December for individuals who have Alzheimer’s/dementia and their caregivers and families at the JFS Halpern Building, 655 Westfield Avenue in Elizabeth.
The “Memory Café” will take place on Thursday, December 13, 12 p.m.-2 p.m. The Memory Café program provides a casual time to enjoy lunch and social activities for individuals with early-to-moderate Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia and their care partners.
The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Caregiver Support Group will take place on Friday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m. The group is free and open to Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers in the community and is run in accordance with the Alzheimer’s NJ guidelines. Caregivers are welcome to join the group at any time. Please note that the support group is not suitable for individuals with the dementia diagnosis.
The group is free and open to Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers in the community. Lunch (kosher dietary laws observed), entertainment and activities will be offered.
