JFSCNJ Hosts Two Free Alzheimer’s Programs in July

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ), a non-sectarian health and social service agency, will host two free programs in July for individuals who have Alzheimer’s/dementia and their caregivers and families at the JFS Halpern Building, 655 Westfield Avenue in Elizabeth.

The “Memory Café” will take place on Thursday, July 6, 12 p.m.-2 p.m. The “Memory Café” program provides a casual time to enjoy lunch and social activities for individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia and their care partners.

The group is free. Lunch (dietary laws observed), entertainment and activities will be offered. Anthony Tabish, a keyboardist who plays American favorites, will be the featured entertainment. Ample on-site parking is available.

Funding for this program has been provided by the Elizabethtown Healthcare Foundation and the Leonard B. Kahn Foundation.

JFSCNJ will be hosting an Alzheimer’s/dementia caregiver support group on Friday, July 7, at 1:00 p.m. The group is free and open to Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers in the community and is run in accordance with the Alzheimer’s NJ guidelines. Caregivers are welcome to join the group at any time. Please note that the support group is not suitable for individuals with the dementia diagnosis.
