Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ), a non-sectarian health and social service agency, will host two free programs in January for individuals who have Alzheimer’s/dementia and/or their caregivers and families at the JFS Halpern Building, 655 Westfield Avenue in Elizabeth.
The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Caregiver Support Group will take place on Friday, January 5, at 1:00 p.m. The group is free and open to Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers in the community and is run in accordance with the Alzheimer’s NJ guidelines. Caregivers are welcome to join the group at any time. Please note that the support group is not suitable for individuals with the dementia diagnosis.
The “Memory Café” will take place on Thursday, January 11, from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. The Memory Café program provides a casual time to enjoy lunch and social activities for individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia and their care partners.
The groups are free and lunch (dietary laws observed), entertainment and activities will be offered.
