JHSNJ to Present Evening on Catskills Comedy Legends

The Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey is excited to present a hilarious virtual evening with Mort Segal, who will be speaking on “The Rise and Fall of the Catskills and the Comedians Who Made Them Famous,” on March 27 at 7 p.m.

Mort Segal grew up in the Catskill hotels, starting as a busboy and growing up to work for his father, booking agent Jack Segal, in what became the largest talent agency in the Catskills. Mort’s firsthand account of comic legends Buddy Hackett, Joan Rivers and many other stars of English and Yiddush vaudeville, stage and screen will keep you laughing.

This program is part of JHSNJ (virtual) “Rooted in North Jersey Speaker Series.” RSVP by March 25 to Debbie Grossman at [email protected] or call 201-300-6590. Zoom information will be provided after RSVP.

There is no charge for this event, but donations are appreciated.
