Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

All JKHA students have been writing and sending letters to children in southern Israel who have been displaced, as well as to those serving in the IDF. Students are writing in pen pal format with positive messages in Hebrew and English. The letters to the schoolchildren are being sent as part of the World Mizrachi Schools Department and Amit Schools “Letters for Israel” initiative. Early childhood students made “mitzvah cards” to brighten people’s day and be sent along with the letters. The letters to the IDF soldiers were sent directly with alumni who returned to Israel from New Jersey to serve with their IDF units. JKHA is committed to having students compose more letters in future weeks and have already heard feedback from recipients on how meaningful these letters are for their morale and how they warm the hearts of the recipients.
