The JKHA and RKYHS family’s hearts, thoughts and tefillot are with the people of Israel. To focus on the events taking place, JKHA middle school and RKYHS Hebrew teachers, under the guidance of their respective divisional leaders, spent time during the day to explain the chronology of this most recent crisis, adjusting the scope and depth of each presentation to the developmental and language needs of each class. RKYHS classes devoted time in separate sessions this week to try to help students process what they’re hearing about in the news and on social media. The sessions gave students an opportunity to discuss how and when to respond to critics of Israel, as well as how to understand the situation as a whole.
JKHA fourth to eighth grades, and all of RKYHS, gathered together over Zoom in solidarity to recite Tehillim together. They have continued to recite Tehillim and special tefillot for the IDF throughout the week. We pray for an end to the violence and a restoration of peace and stability.
