As Lag B’Omer commemorates our dedication to “ve’ahavta le’reiacha kamocha” (love your neighbor as yourself), activities for Lag B’Omer at JKHA focused on teamwork, collaboration and peoplehood. In keeping with the Israeli tradition of field trips on Lag B’Omer, and in coordination with their curricula, first grade visited the Paper Mill Playhouse for a showing of “Dragons Love Tacos” and third grade visited the Sterling Hill Mining Museum.
Middle school students enjoyed hearing inspirational words about the lessons from Lag B’Omer and enjoying treats made in their medurah (bonfire). Through storytelling, craft activities, sports, Torah-learning and trips, JKHA enjoyed an active and meaningful day.
