JKHA Eighth Grade Tours Washington D.C.

The JKHA eighth graders enjoyed a jam-packed three days in Washington D.C. It was an opportunity to see important sights as well as bond as a grade before their upcoming advancement. Highlights of the trip included touring the historic sites of the city such as the Washington Monument, U.S. War Memorials and the Lincoln Memorial, visiting the office of Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen complete with a tour of the Capitol Building, meetings at AIPAC headquarters and exploring the exhibits in National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute. Their trip finished up with a tour of the White House with a greeting from a number of White House staff members followed by a trip to the Newseum where students learned about journalistic process and integrity. The students had a great time and learned a lot while spending quality time with their teachers and friends.
