Eighth graders typically have a grade shabbaton each year. In lieu of an overnight shabbaton, eighth graders stayed after school one evening for a shabbaton experience. Arriving in their Shabbat attire, students started the evening with a “Shabbat” meal complete with challah and grape juice. Two students shared divrei Torah and they all participated in fun games. After Maariv, students spent time around the outdoor fire pits, then enjoyed a dessert oneg as they relished the opportunity to be together outside of school and bond as a grade.
