The seventh grade boys kicked off their Bar Mitzvah programming and eighth grade boys capped off their Bar Mitzvah year with a special trip to Lakewood. They were fascinated with their visit to a tefillin-making factory, where the boys saw the intricate and skilled process of crafting tefillin—a powerful reminder of the mitzvah they are embracing as Bar Mitzvah boys. The boys were mesmerized as they saw the process of making tefillin, starting from the hide all the way to the finished product, and the incredible machinery used to make the tefillin square. The boys had the unique opportunity to visit the largest Yeshiva in America, where they explored the beautiful Seryl and Charles Kushner Rotunda and were privileged to meet Rabbi Dovid Shustel, one of the esteemed Roshei Yeshiva. It was an inspiring chance for them to connect with a Torah giant and witness the vibrancy of Torah learning firsthand. They also had the opportunity to see a plaque that told the incredible story of Mr Irvin Bunim, the grandfather of Head of School, Rabbi Eliezer Rubin. The students are so proud of their deep roots within the different Jewish communities across the world. A pizza lunch capped off a day that was filled with meaningful experiences and memorable moments!
