The JKHA fifth grade students have been studying multiple civilizations from ancient history including Egypt, Greece and Mesopotamia, and this past month, students showcased and sharpened their skills with the Legacy Research Project. Designed to hone students’ research skills, the Legacy Research Project also provided an introduction to new research tactics as fifth graders prepare to meet the expectations of research in the middle school. Students completed research papers and prepared speeches, which they presented in front of family. Dressed as their historical figures, students assumed the mantels of their ancient personas and taught the audience about their valued legacies.
