JKHA fifth graders are taking part in a new organization skills class. The class focuses on introducing executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, task initiation and more. It is led by the middle school Learning Center teacher. Executive functioning allows students to refine their skills to help them plan ahead, be more focused, reflect and regulate their emotions. Most importantly, these skills help enable students to complete their goals and learn strategies to focus, make life easier and limit stress when they have a lot going on. This class is helping fifth graders adjust to middle school and will equip them with life skills that can be used both inside and outside of the classroom.
