JKHA Focuses on Yom HaShoah

The JKHA Lower School commemorated Yom HaShoah with meaningful programming. The second through fourth grades explored the Jewish communities of Europe. Students learned about what it was like to celebrate Shabbat and holidays and to go to school in cities such as Vienna, Warsaw and Berlin. Students displayed artifacts and findings in a

“Wall of Jewish Communities,” providing all passersby with an opportunity to learn about our past. This exploration offered students a chance to consider what makes communities succeed and the unique values that the JKHA community shares as well. The students also heard about the Torah that was saved from a destruction during the Holocaust and rescued from Europe, generously donated to the school by Cecile and Edward Mosberg.
