Kindergarten celebrated their library learning by bringing home their very own books that they created. This year they read a book titled “The Idea Jar.” In the book, ideas don’t want to be put in a jar, they want to become stories, whether written, drawn or spoken. The book served as an introduction to “writing” as they focused this year on all aspects of what it takes to create a book from the title, author and illustrator, publisher, copyright, the parts of a book, difference between fiction and nonfiction and more. The year culminated with a book they wrote/drew that was printed for them to take home and keep!
