JKHA Links Ancient Egypt Studies to Pesach

Elana Kaplan, an educator from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, presented to JKHA fifth grade students on Ancient Egypt, focusing on artifacts from the museum’s Ancient Egyptian collection. She connected and linked the presentation to their social studies curriculum, to Sefer Shemot and to Pesach. Students participated in an interactive virtual tour of the museum, which serves as a valuable preparation for their upcoming trip in June. It was exciting to bring their studies to life in a meaningful way. As part of the experience, students worked with clay to create their own Ancient Egyptian artifacts, with the option to inscribe them using hieroglyphics. Ms Kaplan will also serve as their tour guide during their museum visit in June.
