Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Election Day fever swept through lower school. Over Sukkot, students attended an assembly where Principals Rabbi Srolovitz and Mrs. DiGiovanni hosted a debate presenting both “candidates” in an upcoming division election—whether they should celebrate either Purim or the Fourth of July in November. In the debate, students were able to hear both sides of the issue and perspectives on what each day would look like, as well as the role that each citizen has in the electoral process. Students then picked a “candidate” and made posters and rally signs to support their choice and have been engaged in conversations on the importance of voting and exercising their choice leading up to the big vote in the division on Monday, the day before Election Day!
