Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The joy and energy of Sukkot was felt throughout JKHA middle school during Chol Hamoed! Students participated in a Sukkot scavenger hunt, round-robin complete with Simchat Torah preparations and a Sukkot Chopped competition, and it wouldn’t be a chag without a meaningful interdisciplinary Moadim L’STEAMcha activity! JKHA eighth grade students had the special privilege to mark the yarhzeit of Joseph Kushner z”l as they heard about his life and legacy from his great-granddaughter Annie Orbach and his son Charlie Kushner. They then collectively learned Mishnayot to honor his memory. A Digital Dov chagiga in the picture perfect weather rounded out their first day of Chol Hameod at school.

For the second and last day of Chol Hamoed in school, JKHA middle school headed out in the picture perfect weather to Jeff Lakes Camp to enjoy activities as a division on the camp’s grounds. Students rotated through different team building exercises along with a variety of fun activities including pickleball and tennis, ropes course, bracelet making, volleyball, gaga, basketball, jumping on the trampoline and more. A sukkah was even constructed on site for their use!
