JKHA Middle Schoolers Research Famous Israeli Figures

Every week the JKHA seventh and eighth grades have been studying events in Jewish history. As part of their recent modern Israeli history unit, students researched an event or person in modern Jewish history starting with the time of Herzl. In a project organized by the middle school Hebrew department, students were given topics to research as well as a central person that had to do with that topic. They then worked with educational technologist Mrs. Rubin to create vanity license plates in a graphic design program. They were tasked with using quotes, images and logos to represent the person and the event, accomplishments and associations.

On Yom Ha’atzmaut all of their final license plate products were hung in a gallery in the hallway. Working in partners all four grades in middle shool had to use the hints on the license plates to figure out the person.
