JKHA Reflects on Year Ahead

JKHA middle school took part in a Tzom Gedaliah program that helped add meaning and reinforce the message of Aseret Yemei Teshuva. Students first watched a video giving background on the fast day and then were charged with focusing on seeing themselves as part of a larger community and looking out for one another. Rabbi Joey Adler conveyed to students that now is the time to examine ourselves and our actions and tasked students to reach out to those around them with kindness, to be inclusive of fellow students and put their best foot forward to start this new year. They concluded the program with reciting a perek of Tehillim, and students joined arm in arm in the singing of the unifying song “Acheinu.”
