JKHA/RKYHS Faculty Participate in ‘Fake News’ Seminar

Today’s students are faced with a challenge that seems almost insurmountable as they are bombarded with media from all sides. It is crucial that they be provided with the skills to discern which sources to trust. At JKHA/RKYHS, students are consistently taught to evaluate websites before using them for school. As the online environment has become increasingly complex, and “fake news” has become a household term, JKHA/RKYHS ran two faculty sessions for middle school and high school faculty to discuss these challenges and identify methods to help students navigate the constant information. These sessions were run by Gregory Zuckerman, a well known book author and a special writer with the Wall Street Journal. As an expert in the industry, Mr. Zuckerman was able to provide a different perspective on these challenges as well as some ideas for working with students. Mr. Zuckerman will return to the school in early March to run similar sessions with high school students.
