JKHA Seventh Grade Heads to Philadelphia

The JKHA seventh grade participated in a co-curricular trip to explore historical Philadelphia. They began their full day at the Franklin Institute where they experienced engaging and hands on exhibits. They had the privilege of meeting Nobel Prize winning scientists who came to present their work. The students were then privileged to see the 360-degree live theatrical production of “Freedom Rising” that tells the story of the U.S. Constitution at the National Constitution Center, which complemented their knowledge of the Bill of Rights. They enjoyed a visit to the iconic Liberty Bell and then it was onto the The Spanish Portuguese Shul Kahal Kadosh Mikveh Israel, founded in 1740 for a brief visit. They finished their trip learning about the beginnings of Jewry in America at the National Museum of American Jewish History. The grade was welcomed at Congregation Ahavas Achim in Highland Park for dinner en route home. The trip was a wonderful opportunity to expand their classroom learning, while spending the day bonding with teachers and classmates.
