On Veterans Day, four remarkable veterans from the JKHA community spoke to Grades 2-4. Students had the unique opportunity to hear from Mr. Josh Tennenberg, grandfather of Sam, Emily, and Alex Tennenberg, and Mr. Ellis Polin, grandfather of Adam, Elise, and Rebecca Commer, who spoke to the students about their time in the US Air Force. Mr. Harold Rinn, grandfather of Olivia, Caleb, and Sam Rinn, talked about his training and time served in Vietnam. Finally, students were honored to hear from Mr. Irving Steinbaum, grandfather of Lower School faculty member Ms. Sorah Buchsbaum, who kept them rapt with attention talking about his time served during World War II. Not only were their stories engaging and powerful, but the experience was enhanced when the veterans displayed memorabilia such as medals, photos, certificates and uniforms. It was a truly meaningful morning and JKHA. Thanks them for visiting and for their service to our country.
