JKHA Third and Fourth Graders Learn Useful Technology Skills

Third and fourth graders at JKHA have been enjoying their classroom technology sessions with JKHA/RKYHS Educational Technologist Rabbi Gershom Tave. Working on iPads, third graders are participating in projects that integrate their general and Judaic studies classes and are getting comfortable with using the iPad. Using the Skitch app, students learned to annotate pictures related to what they are learning. Later in the year, they will be working on digital storytelling and slideshows.

Fourth graders worked on Chromebooks, and learned to navigate the technology and its programs including screen captures, copy and pasting and document typing and editing in Google docs. Sessions begin with a designated assignment, then students chose one of the year’s anchor activities, which include keyboarding, using code.org or conducting internet searches, which they will continue to strengthen over the course of the year.
