The JKHA Middle School recently launched a campaign to educate about, and improve performance of, making brachot before eating. It’s called the “Instabracha Brachot Selfie Initiative.”
The Judaic Studies faculty members each took a “selfie” while eating something, wrote down the proper bracha for that food, and nominated three students who were charged to do the same, and then nominate three other students to make a bracha and take a “selfie.” The pictures were then embedded into an Instabracha template and posted along the walls of the Middle School. These Brachot Selfies have gone viral and the excitement is making its way throughout the school, which looks forward to seeing the results through students diligently making brachot throughout the day.
