(Courtesy of JNF) Nearly 600 eager and excited Israel supporters filled the room at the Westminster Hotel in Livingston to show their unwavering passion for the work of Jewish National Fund (JNF-USA) during its annual Breakfast for Israel. The event, which was co-chaired by Jessica Abramovici, Andrew Bronsnick, Maida Richlin and Rabbi Mendel Solomon, generated a tremendous display of excitement in the New Jersey community, and the overwhelmingly positive response by attendees is evidence of the growing appreciation for the meaningful work JNF is doing.
“I am so proud of our community for their unwavering support of Israel and the work Jewish National Fund does every day on the ground to improve the lives of all Israelis,” said Central New Jersey Board President Saul Sutton. “Thank you to everyone who helped make a difference by way of this wonderful event.”
The event featured guest speaker Professor Alan Dershowitz, who spoke about the current climate on college campuses with respect to Israel, the threat of a nuclear Iran and the detrimental movement that is BDS. Jewish National Fund CEO Russell Robinson provided an update on the Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade. This campaign channels JNF’s values for new ventures and calls for investments in a range of initiatives, including community building in Israel’s periphery, engaging the next generation with Israel, heritage preservation, work for individuals with special needs and so much more.
The event was an opportunity for students to learn about the contributions JNF has made to the State of Israel and discover how they can get involved. Local school representatives brought students to the breakfast, including Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston and Golda Och Academy in West Orange.
Attendees at the breakfast watched a video that provided a glimpse into the vision of JNF and how it provides a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land and people of Israel. JNF strives to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is “greening” the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks across Israel, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid agriculture techniques and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.
