The Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance is excited to announce its 10th International Conference on Feminism and Orthodoxy: Building a Vibrant and Equitable Orthodox Community. It will be a daylong virtual conference, held on Sunday March 7, 2021.
Blu Greenberg: Did we imagine, 24 years ago at our First International Conference on Feminism and Orthodoxy, that we would come so far in what is but the blink of an eye as Jews count time? As we embark on our 10th international conference, let us consider the serious advancements of Orthodox women in ritual, community, learning and leadership. Let us also consider the road ahead—what it will take to finish the unfinished, reach a more global audience, and build together a vibrant, equitable Orthodox community.
With over 30 sessions to choose from, this year’s conference will feature sessions including:
- Building a feminist synagogue
- Ritual challenges in the age of COVID-19
- The shifting role of the rabbi
- Birth justice
- Intersectionality
- Political polarization
- Creating a more equitable Jewish education
Confirmed speakers include MK Tehila Friedman; Mayor Aliza Bloch; Rabbanit Michelle Farber; Dr. Rona Novick; Paula Eiselt; Dr. Sylvia Barack Fishman; Dr. Malka Simkovich; Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein; Neshama Carlebach; Rabbanit Dasi Fruchter; Rabbi Barry Dolinger; Rabbanit
