Tali and Ora Ray, ages 12 and 9, of Bergenfield, joined Areyvut during the Nine Days this summer to help out the JFCS Corner Market Kosher Food Pantry. What they realized was that while the pantry had a wide variety of food available, there were no spices or sauces. The girls keep a jar of their own special spice mix at the ready at home so they know how important flavor can be! They, along with their younger sister Atara, 6, are joining with the nonprofit chesed organization Areyvut to run a Spice and Sauce food drive to benefit the pantry during the Aseret Yemei Teshuva, September 18-24. The pantry gave them a list of their most frequently requested spices and sauces. Food can be dropped off at several local locations. See the flier for more information.
