(Courtesy of ISRAED) Israel Education Network (ISRAED) and Religious Zionists of America (RZA) are coordinating a “Worldwide Atzeret Tefilla” on Ta’anit Esther under the banner of “Lech Knos Et Kol Hayehudim.” In the megillah, when the Jewish people are confronted with the threat of destruction and all seems helpless, Esther instructs Mordechai to gather all the Jews together and proclaim a three day fast and prayer, so it is certainly befitting that we gather together in tefillah on this Ta’anit Esther.
On Wednesday, March 20, Jewish youth across the world will unite in an Atzeret Tefillah for students grades seven through 12. The program will originate from the porch of Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh overlooking the Kotel and schools from across North America will participate via Zoom video conference. Tehillim will be recited from different venues and divrei Torah will be shared by Rabbi Kenny Hirschorn (Neve Daniel), who worked closely with Ari Fuld, H”YD, for many years, Rabbi Danny Yalkut form Congregation Poale Tzedek in Pittsburgh and Rookie Billet, principal of Shulamith in the Five Towns. The thousands of students who will be in virtual attendance will join in song led by Rami Strossberg in Yerushalayim.
Many New Jersey area schools have already announced that they will be participating in the event including Frisch, Ma’ayanot, Naale, BPY, Noam, Yavneh, The Idea School, TABC and JEC.
In our often fractured Jewish community, it is so important that we find opportunities to gather together as one.
Registration for the event is still in progress and all Jewish schools are invited to participate. Please register at https://rza.org/kolhayehudim/ or contact [email protected] for further information.
