The Northern New Jersey Holocaust Memorial and Education Committee, together with the New Jersey Enslaved African Committee, met with Senator Loretta Weinberg and representatives from Senator Cory Booker’s office to discuss joint funding for their respective projects that will be located on the Municipal Green in Teaneck. This joint initiative will establish a Holocaust Memorial and Education Center as well as a memorial for Enslaved Africans on the Teaneck Municipal Green. Each project will focus on memorializing those who were victims and educating the community about the history and lessons to be learned from these dark episodes in history. The “Garden for Mutual Understanding” will serve the entire county. To learn more about the Northern New Jersey Holocaust Memorial and Education Center, go to www.nnjholocaustmemorial.org.
