Jordana (Bier) and Asher Tanenbaum of Englewood, New Jersey, welcomed a baby boy, Austin James, on August 22, 2017. His maternal grandparents are Andrea and Bryan Bier of West Orange, New Jersey. His paternal grandparents are Dr. Barton and Arleen Tanenbaum of Beverly Hills, California.
Exactly a year prior to his birth, Jordana went to the Biala Rebbe in search of a bracha to help her conceive. She was told to light a third Shabbat candle to bring a neshama into their home. On the Shabbat following the baby’s arrival, Jordana lit the third candle with her son beside her.
The baby’s Hebrew name is Yoav Azariah Tzvi. Jordana explained, “It was important for us to give our baby a name that signifies our appreciation that God answered our prayers. Azariah was chosen for its beautiful meaning, ‘God listened,’ which relates to our miraculous journey of creating this baby.”
