Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy/Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School to Celebrate 68th Annual Dinner

The Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy / Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School takes great pleasure in announcing its 68th Annual Dinner to be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey.

The school is thrilled to have Sharon and Ed Zughaft as the Guests of Honor this year. Sharon and Ed have gone above and beyond in promoting support for JKHA/RKYHS for nearly two decades. Through Ed’s leadership as a past president, chairman and member of the board of trustees, and Sharon’s active involvement with the PTC and service to the school, they have devoted an infinite amount of time, counsel, resources and enthusiasm toward strengthening JKHA/RKYHS.

The Keter Shem Tov Award will be given to Judy and Dr. Michael Goldrich, who were proud pioneers at JKHA/RKYHS from the East Brunswick community. Judy and Michael have been instrumental in helping JKHA/RKYHS to recruit and to support our educational leaders and faculty. In addition, Michael has served as a member of the JKHA/RKYHS Board of Trustees. The school is thankful for their many meaningful efforts to champion Jewish education and academic excellence.

The coveted Susan H. Dworken Educational Excellence Award will be presented to Gary Berger, Assistant Principal of Guidance and Student Services. JKHA/RKYHS recognizes Gary for his exceptional leadership of the school’s guidance program, his dynamic engagement of current students and alumni, and for the direction he provides to the school’s growing audio-visual program. Gary is an indispensable member of the JKHA/RKYHS administration and faculty, and the school is grateful for his valuable leadership.

This evening of celebration is the year’s most important fundraising event for the yeshiva and is the cornerstone of the annual campaign. As tuition payments cover only 70 percent of the cost of a JKHA/RKYHS education, the yeshiva must rely on the generosity of individuals who are able to help fund the balance. To help sustain the present, and build for the future, JKHA/RKYHS turns to parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, trustees and friends. Participation and support for the annual dinner will make a difference in the life of a Jewish child. It will also enable the school to continue its mission of inspiring excellence and enhancing all facets of the learning environment, as well as ensuring adequate financial assistance to an ever-growing number of families.
