Due to recent incidents of people being attacked in shul for their support of Congressman Gottheimer, we respectfully request that our names be withheld.

We were gratified and relieved to see in The Jewish Link’s September 17 issue that heads of school in our area’s local schools were detailing guidelines for their students’ pre-yom tov COVID-19 safety measures.

We were contrastingly horrified to see an article a few pages later in that same issue about “Scenes From the Frank Pallotta For Congress Barbecue in Teaneck,” in which candidate Frank Pallotta, currently running against incumbent Congressman Josh Gottheimer, appears without a mask and without any social distancing at an event with his supporters.

Mr. Pallotta is clearly not the leader we need. He does not adhere to the very guidelines that we ask of our children as we try to instruct them in the proper way to gather with friends. In fact, Mr. Pallotta exhibits behavior that runs counter to local school protocols meant to keep all citizens and children in our community safe while allowing our schools to remain open.

Contrast that non-leadership conduct with Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s constant vigilance in adhering to health standards at events in which he is observed with mask in place and social distancing protocols maintained.

NJ’s 5th District deserves a candidate who cares about our community and our children. Join us in voting for Josh Gottheimer.
