The inspiring story from “Meet ‘Judge Gorgeous,’ at the Forefront of History” (Feb. 27, 2025), recounted the decision of the judge to have a re-enactment of her wedding to the late Harry First, this time in her synagogue, the Riverdale Jewish Center. Included among the family members gathered under the chuppah was the judge’s Boro Park father, Rabbi Benzion Blech. Called upon to speak, the rabbi said: “I always anticipated the joy of bringing my daughter to the wedding chuppah, but I never thought that my grandchildren would also be there.”

The family humor apparently was not limited to Judge Gorgeous.
