I really enjoy reading The Link, not only because it is generally relatively relatable, but because it provides an eclectic group of thought provoking articles. Sometimes a single article can contribute a myriad of thoughts. Recently, I found Barbara Wind’s suggestion that Jews should have a Jewish History Month (“It’s Time for a Jewish History Month,” March 20, 2025). You know, kind of like a Women’s History Month or a Black History Month. The Romans took care of that over 1,000 years ago. That naming has perpetuated the perception that has been attached to Jews for all time. Jews were accused of deicide, poisoning wells, and on and on. What better month than Jew Lie, or as it is more commonly known, July. Boy those Romans were clever. You think it was an accident?
After all, didn’t Jews invade and occupy a sovereign country called Palestine? After all, didn’t Jews massacre, rape women and strangle innocent Gaza children, which precipitated October 7? Didn’t Hashem offer nomadic non-Jewish people the Promised Land? How many other “Jew lies” have been uncovered by supporters of Hamas? What do the facts say?
Wasn’t Jerusalem frequently mentioned in the Koran as the holy site of Islam? Aren’t Jews considered part of the privileged class of America? They were never considered in need of DEI consideration.
As a side note, how can one explain the rise of Whoopi Goldberg? Whoopi’s original name was Caryn Johnson. Her mother told her that if she wanted to succeed in show business she needed to take on a Jewish name. After all, Jews are a part of the privileged class in America. Caryn became Whoopi Goldberg. She doubled down. Not only was she included in DEI but she was also perceived as a part of the privileged class of Jews, making 7 million dollars a year from The View. And who gave her the job as the host (ess) of The View? Why, Barbara Walters, a white privileged Jewish woman. Isn’t it fascinating that Whoopi Goldberg caused quite a stir when she incorrectly showed her ignorance about the Holocaust?
No, I do not think Jews deserve their own month. They already have one. And look what it has caused us.
