The MTA Lions’ JV Basketball team is ready to start what promises to be an exciting season. The team is led by second-year head coach Yaacov Mayer and assistant coach Mason Wedgle. The Lions have been practicing hard and hope to build on their five hundred record from last season. Anchoring the team are returning players Eitan Warburg, Eitan Pfeiffer, Avi Wolk, Hudy Weiss, Isaiah Anderson and Yoni Rothberg. Adding to its depth are fellow classmates Moshe Fried, Gavriel Itzhkabayev, David Saginor and Aaron Sebbag. The team’s sophomore class will be aided by a strong incoming freshman class, including Elie Goldberg, Ikey Gutlove, Yonatan Kaye, Moshe Loew and Tzvi Zigelstein.

The MTA Lions open their season on the road at JEC this coming Monday, November 7, as part of an MTA/ JEC JV/ Varsity double-header. The Lions home opener will be at the YU Max Stern Athletic Center on Tuesday, November 15, when they take on the SAR Sting.
