JV RTMA Thunder End Successful Preseason

The RTMA Thunder overcame early jitters and a 9-2 HAFTR JV first quarter lead in preseason competition, to storm ahead at the end of the first quarter, 18-7. Captain and forward Yair Kimmel netted 2 treys to lead the RTMA comeback. RTMA continued the pace in the second quarter and built a 32- 26 bulge.

In the second half, the Thunder continued its torrid shooting and led at the three quarter mark, 45-34. HAFTR’s valiant compact effort fell short, as RTMA won by the final score of 64-2.

Leading the way for RTMA was center Jacob Winters with 17 points, even though he battled foul trouble most of the game. Kimmel finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds, for a double-double. Guard Aharon Heller had 11, Moshe Heller 10, also power forward Jake Goldberg and forward Joseph Sandler each had 5 points and 6 rebounds.

The Thunder concludes the preseason at 2-1, averaging 56 points per game. Their regular season opens Saturday night at Frisch..
