The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades Waltuch Art Gallery, located at 411 E. Clinton Avenue in Tenafly, presents: “Portraits of Brooklyn and a Few Old Friends,” an exhibition of painting and drawings by Boris Lyubner. The show will be on display September 3-28, with a meet-the-artist reception on Tuesday, September 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Boris Lyubner graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Art—the same school where Marc Chagall failed to pass the entrance examination some 75 years earlier—and then immigrated to the US. For the next 20 years, Boris built a successful career as an illustrator with national and international clients that include Bank of America, Microsoft, Intel, Standard & Poor’s, Motorola, IBM, Ernst & Young, Toyota, Chrysler, Nike and other major corporations. He is now exploring a more personal artistic journey that includes illustration, fine art, life-drawing, portraiture and charcoal sketches.
Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m; Friday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Saturday and Jewish holidays. Admission is free and open to the community. For more information on gallery exhibitions, contact Nina Bachrach at 201-408-1406 or email: [email protected].
