(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC on the Palisades) Step right up to the Rubach Family Purim Celebration at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades on Sunday, February 25, 1-4 p.m. Bring your children in their favorite Purim costumes to enjoy moon bounce, slides, games, inflatable photo booth, face painting, prizes, life-size cartoon characters, cotton candy, snacks, DJ, Israeli dancing, Purim puppet show and sing-a-long (20-minute shows at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.), roving actors who will perform short, five-minute shows and more!
Children with special needs and their families are welcome to a sensory-friendly hour from 12 to 1 p.m., at which time they can enjoy games and booths, Purim crafts and other activities before the carnival opens to the community.
Everyone is invited to join the fun! Suggested entrance donation: $1 per person to be donated to the Center for Food Action. Teens, grades 7-12, interested in volunteering are welcome and will receive community-service hours. All ride and game tickets sold on $25 cards for 30 tickets. Purim is celebrated annually to commemorate the deliverance of the Jewish people. Designated as a day of feasting and rejoicing, people honor the holiday by dressing in costumes and masks, giving to charity and socializing in a spirit of public celebration.
